Turkey
Turkey is one of the most fascinating countries I’ve been to. The East meets the West. I had just finished watching the Ottoman Empire series on Netflix, so I arrived with a deep interest in the region’s history. Seeing the layers of Roman, Catholic, Ottoman, and Arab influences blend together in Istanbul, used be to called Constantinople, was incredibly memorable.
Argentina and Chile
I went to Argentina with a group of 20 something other people from around the world, and a Spotify colleague. We stayed in Bariloche for a month and some of us took to a weekend trip to Chile for Torres Del Paine. Patagonia is incredibly beautiful!
Scotland
I flew into London for a night, then took the train to Edinburgh - choosing the side with the best views, of course. From there, I rented a car and spent 10 days driving roughly 1,000 miles through the Scottish Highlands. The landscapes were absolutely stunning.
Japan
I visited Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Suzuka during cherry blossom season. Kyoto was my favorite -serene and full of character. The Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima was a powerful, emotional experience. I also caught the F1 race in Suzuka!
Costa Rica
The land of pura vida (simple life) is the most fulfilling place I have been to. I went there with a colleague in 2018. If you go to Costa Rica, I highly recommend staying a couple of nights in Monteverde; very quiet and peaceful.
Colombia
My first solo trip. I visited Medellin, Bogotá, Salento, and Cartagena. Medellin was fascinating, and I loved Salento - it reminded me a lot of Monteverde in Costa Rica: laid-back and lush. Cartagena, though rich in history, felt overwhelming and too geared toward tourists.
Spain
I went to Spain twice. During the first trip I went to Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba and Madrid. The second one was for a Spotify team onsite. A group of us drove to Costa Brava where we rented an AirBnb for a few days before driving to Barcelona for the onsite. One of the best trips I ever had!
Sweden
I went to Stockholm for my Spotify onboarding. Pristine!
Netherlands
I went to Amsterdam twice thanks to Uber. One for a team onsite and another for a payments conference. The second time I went I rented a car and drove to Den Haag as well. I came across Louis Van Gaal there. IYKYK. Uber required new employees to experience delivering food; so it was fun to ride around the city and deliver Uber Eats orders.
Mexico
I visited Mexico city 3 times - I just love the food, the color and the overall ambiance of the city. It reminds me of Dhaka. If you want beach vibes Tulum and Cozumel are amazing.
Portugal
Trip to Lisbon was an impulsive one as far I recall. But worth!
Bangladesh
And of course, my motherland!
